Jeremiah 5:21-25 (NLT)

21Listen, you foolish and senseless people—who have eyes but do not see, who have ears but do not hear. 22Do you have no respect for me? Why do you not tremble in my presence? I, the LORD, am the one who defines the ocean’s sandy shoreline, an everlasting boundary that the waters cannot cross. The waves may toss and roar, but they can never pass the bounds I set.

23“But my people have stubborn and rebellious hearts. They have turned against me and have chosen to practice idolatry. 24They do not say from the heart, ‘Let us live in awe of the LORD our God, for he gives us rain each spring and fall, assuring us of plentiful harvests.’ 25Your wickedness has deprived you of these wonderful blessings. Your sin has robbed you of all these good things.

Jeremiah 6:10 (NLT)

10To whom can I give warning? Who will listen when I speak? Their ears are closed, and they cannot hear. They scorn the word of the LORD. They don’t want to listen at all.

John 12:28-29 (NLT)

28Father, bring glory to your name.”

Then a voice spoke from heaven, saying, “I have already brought it glory, and I will do it again.” 29When the crowd heard the voice, some thought it was thunder, while others declared an angel had spoken to him.

John 12:37-38 (NLT)

37But despite all the miraculous signs he had done, most of the people did not believe in him. 38This is exactly what Isaiah the prophet had predicted:

“Lord, who has believed our message?

To whom will the Lord reveal his saving power?”

How can I lead them is they won’t follow. We have been called to do something amazing in Colorado Springs — and people, for the most part, have caught the vision, but they really don’t want to do what it takes to make it happen. They want it to happen, but they don’t want to make it happen. Why is that?

What will it take to make things happen in this church? What will it take to get people to sell out to God? When will the leaders lead?

Is it because of me that we’re not moving forward? Am I a stumbling block? Are people looking for a personality to lead them forward? Are they looking for the right vision? Are they looking for someone else to show the way? What will it take to get people to step up to the plate and make it happen?

What am I doing wrong God? What can I do better? Why are people not seeing, not hearing, not responding?

In order to lead people, one needs to be a leader. I must continually lead in ways that focus people on Christ. There can be no other way, but to lift Jesus up and in that way others will be drawn to Him.

This is my role.

Dear God, teach me to be a leader. Humble me and empty me of myself. Alleviate my fears, my pride, and the need to succeed.

You alone God are the one who will build this church. You alone must bring us to the place you planned.

Thanks! gw
